WHY WE DO THIS

I've seen the good exits — owners who planned ahead, positioned strategically, and walked away with the outcome they deserved.
But I've also seen the preventable disasters. The owner who had a heart attack at 58, whose business was liquidated within months. The manufacturer whose partner died unexpectedly, forcing a fire sale to pay estate taxes. The service company whose owner "wasn't ready yet" — until a major health diagnosis made the decision for him.
And just as often, I've seen owners harmed by poor guidance. Businesses rushed to market before they were ready. Values overstated to win a listing, then negotiated down under pressure. Buyers introduced without proper vetting, exposing employees, customers, and reputations to unnecessary risk.
In every case, the same thought haunted me:
